Solitary Thoughts!

The day goes by in a hurry,
I don’t see the sun rise,
Or the birds fly.
I don’t smell the rose that bloomed yesterday,
Nor do I know how the mud smells in the first rain.
I don’t hear the sparrows chirp,
Or even the water drip when it rains.
I don’t anymore know if a rainbow does have seven colours,
Or beyond those black clouds, if there is a blue sky.
I forget how it felt to swing high and
Feel the wind in my hair.
I haven’t walked on the grass bare feet,
Haven’t pricked on the thorn from the ‘touch me not’s for so long.
I know not how it felt when the waves swept me off my feet,
Neither how the little fishes bit my knee deep legs in the pond.
Do the seasons still change? I don’t see it now.
I don’t see the dews the morning leaves on the greens,
I don’t see the red leaves depart their trees,
I don’t see the squirrels hide away in the cold,
I don’t see the first flower that’s burst open in the spring,
I don’t see the cuckoo that sings all day in the sun.
I wonder if they still do exist….

Or do I ask, if I am still alive??
